 Hello Families,

There is no school tomorrow for students as it is a professional learning day for staff.  Students return to school on Monday November 9th.

This week we are continuing to listen our class novel in Literacy and write about different characters from the story. We also researched animal shelters to find out what they do and how they help animals.Today we started our research on elephants and will continue this next week.In math we continue to work on multiplication and division. This week we have been solving problems related to the running of an Animal Shelter. In Science we are focused on Waste and our World, learning how to protect our world by recycling and reusing stuff. We also looked at different forms of transportation, and how new technologies can reduce pollution. We investigated how settlers hunted Buffalo, comparing that to how Indigenous People hunted. In art we will be creating some drawings in the style of West Coast Indigenous Art. We continue to research Canadian musicians in music. In gym we have been developing throwing and catching skills with frisbees and balls.

Next week we will be focused on Remembrance Day learning. There will be no school on Wednesday, November 11 as we commemorate Remembrance Day.

We have enjoyed a lovely week, weather-wise. Next week will be cold so please make sure your children are coming to school suitably prepared for the weather.

Thank you and have a lovely weekend.
